I like to browse galleries, auction houses, and  websites for pendants and chandeliers because they often are my starting point when I design a room. They make the perfect statement, let me share my latest discoveries:

Niam Barry’s light sculptures fascinate me. They are magical and fit perfectly in any room.

“Cordes”, the light fixture by Mathieu Lehanneur that looks like it is coming out from inside the ceiling, is a true piece of art.

Inspired by city lights and the night sky, Frederik Molenschot designed this series he named city lights. Simply irresistible!

On a recent trip to Apparatus in NYC, I fell in love with this piece made of horse hair, brass and etched glass. A totally unexpected combination of materials never seen before.

While inquiring about my favorite Ingo Meurer chandelier, Birdie, I discovered another of his amazing creations, the Broken Egg!

Lamps hanging with black electrical cords can act as more casual statements. Flos has a good choice.

AIM pendent designed by Bouroullec
String light designed by Michael Anastassiades

The Halo pendent by Matthew McCormick is also an interesting presence.

And to warm up a space, Atelier Alain Ellouz has a line inspired by the solar system. Yoko and Yum are my favorites.
